As we say goodbye to another year and look forward to the next, it’s always a time of reflection.
Some are more than happy to give the middle finger to the old year!
However you feel, seeing in the New Year is always a time for optimism. A clean slate. A chance to change things!
This is traditionally the day we all make stupid resolutions that are virtually impossible to keep.
Yet we make them anyway!
So here’s the thing, this year – make them doable!
Make them bite size and if you go off target then so what – just drag yourself back on target – because you want to!
Instead of wanting to lose 30lb this year – break it down – lose 3lb a month and give yourself some ‘naughty’ room!
Instead of wanting to earn an extra $5k this year – break it down- start by earning an extra $100 a week. That coffee you buy everyday costs you $30 a week so try cutting that out – then you only need to earn an extra $70 a week!!
You can be sure that debt and weight didn’t appear overnight so it certainly isn’t going to disappear overnight either!
Give yourself the time to do it right!
Resolutions fail because of one reason – YOU!
YOU need to do the work!
YOU need to do the exercise!
There’s nobody else to blame if you fail.
If I could bottle Willpower and sell it I would be laughing all the way to the bank.
We’re so harsh on ourselves – one tiny little misdemeanour and we scrap all those good intentions. Make it a long term goal with mini goals on the way to the big prize.
I’ll bet you’ll find it much easier to stay on track.
As for me…
I’m excited for 2014…
Yes I’ve made my resolutions – I’m not about to publicly declare them but I will be making a plan so that I can accomplish them by this time next year.
Just in time to make some more doable goals!
What about you?
Are you a resolution maker or do you break them so easily that you don’t even bother?
So Happy New Year to you all!
May it bring everything you wish for and then some!
Here’s to your online success,
P.S. If you need some help with making that extra $100 a week, let me know, I may have just the thing for you. Leave me a comment below and I’ll get right back to you.
